Meet Joanna Bridgett, Senior Sales Executive & Care Coordinator at Beyondbmi

Estimated reading time: about 3 minutes

At Beyondbmi, our people are the heartbeat of our mission. Today, we’re honored to celebrate two years with Joanna, whose work bridges connection, care, and transformation. Through her role, she helps members navigate their journeys while ensuring the human touch remains central.

Below, she shares her story: what drew her to Beyondbmi, how she’s grown, and where she sees us going together.

1. Reflecting on Two Years at Beyondbmi: What Has Stood Out the Most

Q: When you look back at your time here, what moments or experiences stand out to you the most?

It’s hard to choose just one moment, but what stands out most is watching Beyondbmi grow from a small, early-stage startup to a thriving, business that’s changing lives. Being part of that journey from the ground up, and seeing patients go from uncertainty to confidence, has been incredibly rewarding.

Q: What first attracted you to Beyondbmi, and what kept you here?

I was drawn in by the mission, tackling something as misunderstood and stigmatsed as obesity, in a way that puts empathy and science at the centre. What’s kept me here is the people and the purpose. The culture of Beyondbmi is one where everyone truly cares, about the mission, about growth, and about each other.

2. Bridging Sales and Care at Beyondbmi: How Joanna’s Role Has Evolved

Q: Your title combines “Sales” and “Care”, a unique pairing. How have you navigated the balance between them?

For me, sales and care aren’t opposites, they’re two sides of the same coin. Every sale starts with genuine care, understanding someone’s needs, fears, and goals. I’ve always seen my role as helping people make the right decision for themselves, not pushing them into one. My role is about helping people push past their own personal guilt about their weight and helping them to realise that their weight doesn't have any reflection on them and that its ok to reach out for help. Beyondbmi is here for them.

Q: How has your role changed or expanded in those two years?

I started at Beyondbmi as the first hire in the sales team and have since been promoted to Senior Sales Executive. Over time, I’ve had the opportunity to be part of hiring and training new team members, while helping to review and establish a structured sales pipeline process that supports consistency and growth. As the company has evolved, so has my role, moving from hands-on sales to a more strategic position where I contribute to shaping how we communicate value, streamline processes, and ensure every patient’s journey is seamless from first contact to long-term success.

3. Connecting to Beyondbmi’s Mission and Culture

Q: Beyondbmi’s mission is about more than health, it’s about renewed life and confidence. How do you personally connect with that?

I’ve always been driven by helping people find that spark again.

Q: If you had to choose three words to describe Beyondbmi’s culture, what would they be, and why?

Empathetic because compassion is at the heart of everything.

Driven because everyone here pushes for excellence, even when it’s hard.

Collaborative, we all share the same goal, and that makes even the biggest challenges feel achievable.

4. Lessons, Growth, and Advice from Two Years at Beyondbmi

Q: Looking back to your first day,  what advice would you give your earlier self?

Every challenge you face will make you stronger, and every “no” will lead you closer to the right “yes.” Growth isn’t linear, but it’s always worth it.

5. Looking Ahead: Joanna’s Vision for the Future of Obesity Care

Q: What excites you most about what’s ahead,  for yourself, and for Beyondbmi?

For Beyondbmi, it’s the continued evolution, expanding access, new medications, and continuing to redefine what compassionate obesity care looks like. For me personally, it’s about continuing to grow as a sales leader, taking what I’ve learned and using it to empower others to hit their goals while never losing sight of the human connection behind each sale.

Q: If you could sum up your Beyondbmi experience in one sentence, what would it be?

Being part of an industry that’s constantly evolving has been incredibly exciting, and working with Beyondbmi has made that experience even more meaningful. In the two years I’ve been here, I’ve seen the conversation around obesity care transform,  the industry has exploded with innovation, awareness, and momentum. What excites me most about working with Beyondbmi is being part of a team that’s leading that change, combining medical expertise with empathy to truly make a difference in people’s lives. It’s inspiring to contribute to something that people are talking about and to see the real impact our work creates every day.

Closing Reflection

Two years in, Joanna reminds us that impact is built day by day, choice by choice. Her commitment, heart, and evolving leadership bring alive what we believe at Beyondbmi: that transformation is always human, always collaborative, always real.

Thank you, Joanna, for being part of this journey, and for helping shape what’s next.
