The Programme

  • Beyondbmi is suitable for most people who are living with obesity. However, the following is a list of criteria, which would mean it is NOT the solution for you.

    Exclusion Criteria:

    • People who are living with Type 1 Diabetes.

    • Anyone below the age of 18 years

    • A person who is planning a pregnancy in the next three months

    • A person who is currently Pregnant

    • Currently, breastfeeding

    • A person living with end Stage Kidney Disease

    • A person living with end Stage Liver Disease

    • A person with a history of Pancreatitis, if not due to gallstones.

    • Anyone not living in the Republic of Ireland.

  • 12 months. This is because recent clinical trials show it can take 68 weeks (just over 12 months) to achieve 15% weight loss when using certain AOM (anti-obesity medication) combined with nutritional and behavioural support.

  • Month 1: Kickstart

    You meet one of our Health Coaches who will chat with you about what you would like to get from the service and where you feel you need the most support to reach your health goals sustainably. You will meet with a Health Coach each month for 30 minutes to work through any challenges you might face.

    You will then meet with one of our expert clinicians specialising in weight management. Together you will decide on a personalised treatment plan which may or may not include medications.

    You have access to personalised content designed to help you better understand metabolic health and support you in building healthy habits.

    Month 2-3: Learning the foundations

    You will meet with one of our dietitians, who will provide you with nutritional therapy to ensure you maintain muscle while losing weight. You and the dietician will agree on a personalised dietary plan will be.

    Working closely with your Health Coach, you will implement the medical and dietary plans to build new habits to support your progress.

    Month 4-6: Forming new healthy habits

    You start seeing changes in your body and feeling the physical benefits of weight loss.

    You meet one of our Clinical Nurse Specialists. They will review your journey, discuss any alterations required to your treatment plan, and address any health-related concerns.

    You will meet one of our Dietitians who will review your nutritional therapy, your progress to date, and what alterations are required to ensure you stay on track to achieve your goals.

    Continue working closely with your Health Coach, meeting once a month, and having access to messaging for quicker feedback.

    Month 7-9: Solidifying your new healthy habits

    By now, you feel comfortable with your program and will notice improvements in your mood, mobility and sleep.

    You meet once again with one of our Clinical Nurse Specialists. They will review your journey, discuss any alterations required to your treatment plan, address any health-related concerns and begin.

    Again you will meet one of our Dietitians who will review your nutritional therapy, your progress to date, and what alterations are required to ensure you stay on track to achieve your goals.

    Continue working closely with your Health Coach, meeting once a month, and having access to messaging for quicker feedback. They will help you focus on the future and how you can build long-term behavioural change to support.

    Month 10-12: Health gain for life

    You will better understand your nutritional requirements and how to manage them.

    You will have developed several robust strategies to manage setbacks and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

    At the 12-month mark, one of our Clinical Nurse Specialists and Dietitians will meet with you to discuss weight management options for the future and ensure you have all you need to maintain the weight you want.

  • 1) We are medically-led. We have a team of doctors, dieticians, nurses and health coaches all of whom are SCOPE certified in obesity medicine.

    2) We are fully digital. You can access the programme from the comfort of your home without communting or taking days off work for medical appointments

    3) There are no diets. The best diet is the one which you can realistically stick to and enjoy. Our team are skilled in medical nutritional therapy, eating behaviours and want to support you to develop a better, healthier relationship with food

  • All of our doctors are SCOPE certified in obesity medicine. Our doctors have different backgrounds (Professors, GP’s, Endocrinologists and more) but they have all done further study in obesity medicine as they find this area of medicine rewarding. We thoroughly screen all doctors who are approved by our Medical board.

  • No. We don't offer one-off consultations because we take a long-term view to help clients achieve sustainable, lasting weight loss. This is why we developed a programme which includes quarterly doctor/nurse consults, quarterly dietician consults and monthly health coaching for support and accountability.

Medication & Medical Care

  • All medications your specialist clinician will prescribe are EMA approved and are scientifically proven to help treat the disease of obesity. Our obesity clinicians prescribe a wide range of anti-obesity medication. Depending on your health history, your specialist doctor works with you here to create the best pathway for you.

  • The most common side-effects of anti-obesity medication are nausea and constipation. Most side-effects are dose-related and transient meaning they will likely subside over time. Depending on the medication, you will be advised on how to best manage any side effects by the clinical team who will also be at hand to answer any questions

  • We request certain routine blood tests within 1 month of starting the programme. If you have had blood tests done in the last 12 months, you don't need to get your blood drawn again.

    Minimum blood tests needed are: HbA1c, liver panel, TFT's, renal panel (optional for lipid panel).

Billing & Payment

  • Once registrered payments are made through stripe.

  • The monthly subscription for Beyondbmi is €150.

    Prices do not include medications.

  • Beyondbmi does not sell medication. We provide access to clinicians and a health team. If you are prescribed a medication by your Beyondbmi doctor, you can attend any pharmacy of your choice to get your prescription filled.

  • We will provide you with itemised invoices which can be sent to your insurance company. The coverage of each company and policy will vary. Please check in advance and if you are having any difficulties our team can work with your insurance company to ensure you can claim all services you are entitled to.

  • It is not possible to cancel your BeyondBMI subscription within the first four months of joining. This is to ensure enough time on our programme to assess your treatment and service. If for any reason you are not happy with the programme after this four month period you can cancel your membership by contacting our customer support department. To cancel your subscription please email support@beyondbmi.ie  and a member of our team will get in contact with you within 2 - 3 working days of receiving your request. (BeyondBMI working hours are Monday - Friday, 9am - 5:30pm).

    All cancellation notices are subject to a minimum 30 day notice period from the date that your email is received to your next payment date.

    For example if you wish to cancel your subscription and your next payment date is September 20th - you need to give us notice before or on August 20th to ensure that you will not be billed for your next payment.

    If your cancellation notice is given within 0 to 29 days of your next payment date you will be billed for your next payment and cancelled after that. For example, if your next payment is September 20th and you give us notice between August 21st and September 19th, you will be billed for your next payment date.

    It is not possible to pause your subscription. It is not possible to request a refund for your subscription once you have consumed any of our services. If you believe you have a specific circumstance you would like to discuss please contact us through support@beyondbmi.ie.

    Customers who cancel their subscription with BeyondBMI will be contacted by a member of our team to gather feedback on our services and product.

    BeyondBMI may update the cancellation policy at any time and update all existing customers via email.
