Wegovy and Semaglutide Titration Schedule
Let's talk about the titration schedule of Wegovy and Semaglutide, which is a weekly injection.
The titrations, i.e., the dose increase, occur every month. So to make this more understandable,
You take 0.25 MG. once weekly for one month the first month.
For the second month, you will increase that to 0.5 MG. once weekly for one month.
For the third month, you increase further to 1 MG once weekly for one month.
For the fourth month, 1.7 MG once weekly for one month.
From the fifth month onwards, 2.4 MG. once weekly. That is the maximum dose you can use.
However, you may find one of two things. For example, you may have side effects when you are increasing the dose, in which case what we may choose to do for you is to keep you at a lower dose for a little bit longer. So instead of keeping you for four weeks, we decided to do it for six or eight weeks.
The other thing that may happen is that you may not be able to tolerate the highest dose of 2.4 MG, for example, either because you have side effects that do not disappear or because it is too expensive.
You can still use a lower dose, for example, 1.7 MG or 1 MG, so the medication will still be effective, but you have to take it at the lower dose.
