Originally from Malaysia, Nurha has lived in Ireland for over 19 years and completed her medical training at University College Cork (UCC). She gained broad hospital experience before moving into general practice. Outside of work, Nurha can usually be found chasing after her two kids — or hiking up a mountain to get away from them!
Nurha grew up in a family who have always struggled with weight, which gave her a first-hand understanding of the difficulties people living with obesity face on a daily basis. The growing range of life-changing treatment options now available is what drives her passion for the field. She has a special interest in childhood obesity and is pursuing further training in this area.
